Family time is the best time! Bring your immediate family out for a day of fun doing various activities together, alongside other responder families at Colorado Youth Outdoors. Their mission is to build relationships through outdoor recreation and want to provide that opportunity for responder families. We will have the entire property to ourselves. Every 30 minutes there will be a safety briefing at 3 different stations: archery with animal targets, BB guns, and spin fishing in the ponds. All gear and equipment will be provided, including lunch!

The sessions will be 15 minutes long and she will provide you with 10-15 edited photos digitally. Let’s get out and enjoy some beautiful weather while working on our fly fishing skills. Responders join us for a 1/2 day of fly fishing with 2 instructors and fishing in the ponds at Colorado Youth Outdoors. Everything will be provided included lunch. This outing will be hosted by Michael Hughes.

We are excited to gather together over the summer and connect with other responder families in excitement of starting our Revitalizing Guardians group in the fall. Please bring the whole family, whether or not you have kids, you're welcome to come and connect with other spouses and first responders. There's a spray pad (so pack extra clothes/towels), walking trails, open fields, and nearby access to a skatepark, basketball court, bocce ball, horseshoes, tennis, sand volleyball, and shuffleboard. Feel free to bring your own sports equipment and bring your own picnic dinner.

The tee time should be around 8am but will be confirmed as the date gets closer. This outing will be hosted by retired police officer, Brad Frederking and sponsored by Townsend Retirement.

Enjoy a day of flyfishing from a drift boat or raft. You will have the opportunity to catch wild trout and explore sections of river that are not otherwise accessible. No experience or gear is necessary. Lunch, snacks, and water will be provided. Exact float locations are dependent on current conditions. Expect to meet at 6 am and return sometime between 4 and 7 pm (the time depends on conditions and location). This outing will be hosted by Corey Davidson.

We would like to sponsor 2 teams of responders for the corn hole tournament at Colorado Youth Outdoors. They have opened up their facility to us and we would like to support them. Revital will cover the team admission. Food trucks will be there, but you will be responsible for your own food. Families are welcome to join but they will have to pay for general admission. Doors open at 1pm.

Come check out Coffee Cruisers the last Saturday of every month anytime between 7:30am-10am to enjoy some cool cars, bikes, and coffee. Bring your family to see the cars. Join other responders for a day of exploring the Bunce School Road. This up and back trail with some tight spots and is moderate difficulty. You must have an OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) to participate and can bring other responders and or spouses along. There is a historical site that you will visit, have lunch around 11:30 and finish the trail drive at Dicks Camp Site. Estimated to finish the trail around 2 or 3pm.

Colorado Youth Outdoors is holding a family corn hole event and we would like to cover 10 families for this event. Bring your family out for an evening of fun playing corn hole. They will provide hot dogs/burgers and root beer floats as well.

Mindset Reps is offering a FREE exclusive, in-person relationship workshop for first responders and/or their partners. Presented by Cherie Chan. Come as a couple, come solo or send your spouse! This session is part of the official filming of our upcoming SHIFT Program, a first-of-its-kind comprehensive fitness, resilience and leadership course designed by first responders, for first responders. This workshop isn’t about relationship advice. It’s real conversations—about what it actually takes to make relationships work in the fire service. Get ready, it’s messy.

Topics include:

 - Five challenges first responder relationships face.
 - How to recognize hidden expectations before they turn into resentment.
 - Simple, tools to improve communication and connection.
 - Building a relationship that feels like a team—even in the chaos of this job, and defining what that means for you.

We will have 2 pickleball courts set up for 2 hours @ Boulder Pickleball. Whether you are an avid pickleball player or have ever wanted to try the game, this will be a great opportunity. There will also be an instructor for one of those hours to help new players learn. Paddles and balls will be provided. This will be a great way to enjoy a few hours of fun and competition. Responders, et’s get together for some cow snuggles. Lucky Blu Ranch is owned by a Brighton Firefighter and his family and are excited to have us out to meet their moos. Get your cameras ready. During this event you will spend time with their beautiful Scottish Highlands and HighParks, spoiling them with treats, scratches, and even bottle feed some itty bitty calves. Following this meet and greet, lunch will be provided at a nearby restaurant. This outing will be hosted by Amanda Bader.

One day a year, Colorado Youth Outdoors opens their ponds to the public. June 21 is the CYO Fishing Derby. Bring your own equipment or use theirs. No live bait, no fishing licenses, the ponds are catch and release. All ages welcome, and first-time fishers are encouraged to participate! They’ll have instructors available.

This will be a great day to enjoy with your family. Fishing in the morning, lunch around noon, followed by a flurry of raffle prizes.

The derby is full but they are opening spots for 3 first responder families.

We will be creating knife handles for a drop-point skinner knife. Each attendee will leave with their own personally hand-crafted knife. No previous skills are required, and all supplies and equipment will be provided. We will begin by creating the basic look of each handle. While we are waiting for the epoxy to set (about an hour) we will cook a meal and eat together. After we eat, we will finish with each person applying the finishing touches to personalize their knife that they will bring home that day. This outing will be hosted by Chris Bussard.

Responders, let’s head out for a morning of guided white water rafting. We will spend the morning rafting and have lunch at Beau Jo’s after. Arrive in Idaho Springs around 8am and finish up around 1pm. If anyone has their own wetsuits or booties, they are welcome to bring them or we can rent booties.  You can also look up on the website for recommended items to bring - swimsuits, shoes that can get wet, etc. If you have any questions please reach out to Kym at klong@revitalcolorado.org.

Do you ever have the feeling you just need to smash something? I think we’ve all been there. We have the perfect way for you to do that. Join us to SMASH some bottles, followed by a total body workout (for all levels) and then time in a relaxation room all while connecting with other first responders.

Let’s meet for coffee at Village Roasters at 8 am and then head over to shoot at Bristlecone. Some ammo and gun rentals (no full auto) will be provided. Shooting will be from 8:30am-10:30am before they open the range. Bring your own guns if you would like. This outing will be hosted by Tim Felton & Steph Harms.

Enjoy a day of fly fishing from a boat. We will be floating the upper section of the Colorado River. The day will be filled with plenty of opportunities to catch wild trout and amazing scenery. Lunch, snacks, and water will be provided. Fly fishing gear provided if needed. No fly fishing experience is necessary. (Float trip subject to change based on water flows. If flows are low, we will still get out and go wade fly fishing.)
